Information meeting to be held August 1 regarding Road Improvement Projects.

July 23, 2007

Dear Olive Road, Pine Road, and Lincolnway Area Residents and Businesses,

As you have been aware, there have been plans for road improvement projects to Olive Road, Pine Road and U.S. 20 for several years. These improvements are part of a cooperative effort between the City of South Bend and the St. Joseph County Airport Authority. The changes planned will provide improved utilization of the airport, and provide the necessary infrastructure to accommodate industrial growth for the area. Several years ago, the City expanded Olive Road and Nimtz Parkway, and are now ready to build the next phases of the planned improvements to Olive Road continuing to Lincolnway and Pine Road. These improvements will happen in tandem with the airport's efforts to redesign and rebuild the interchange at U.S. 20 and U.S. 31. Construction is anticipated to start in the summer of 2008.

To hear more information about this project, including an opportunity to view and discuss the project plans, you (or a representative) are encouraged to visit the Public Safety Building at the South Bend Regional Airport (West of the terminal building) August 1, 2007 at 6:30pm. A map to the building is included. I will be available with representatives of the City and the Airport as well as from our engineering consultant to answer any questions or concerns.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at 235-5836 or email at nwitwer@southbendin.gov. I look forward to meeting with you. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Witwer
Economic Development Planner
