The St. Joseph County Airport Authority held a Full Scale Training exercise on 9/20/08 at the South Bend Regional Airport. This was a test of the Airport’s Aircraft Rescue, Firefighting, and Emergency response procedures to an aircraft incident. Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical personnel as well as the Red Cross and other social service agencies from the community participated in the exercise along with Airport Authority personnel.

Per F.A.A. requirements, the Airport is mandated to undergo a full scale emergency exercise every three years.
